Sandy G. Langelier
Sandy explores both traditional and modern expressions of landscapes, portraits, and still life subjects using the old masters’ techniques of building color and form through multiple transparent layers of oil paint. Recently, she expanded her repertoire to include pastel paintings. She’s drawn to the drama of western landscapes, the quiet beauty found in the simplicity of food, and the magnificence of animals.
Sandy’s artistic journey began late in life, at age 55, when she began taking art classes at CNM and the New Mexico Art League. Her near-obsessive drive to create is fulfilled through painting, pastels, and hand-built ceramics.
